Our Story

We registered CHIEF CORNERSTONE INVESTMENTS LIMITED in October 1995 and we commenced our maiden activities in farming and agriculture in the month of November 2016.

We immediately started the purchase of the farmlands at Erigboro in Osunbudepo area of Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

We commissioned erudite scholars and consultants to look at the possibility of planting cash crops like Cocoa and Oil palm in Ijebu Igbo and the reports came out to be positive.

Presently, we have about 400 acres of farmland in Ijebu Igbo where we have planted Cocoa (TC 1-TC8 variety), Oil palm (Tenera) and Plantain on about half of our land holding there.

We decided to register CHIEF CORNERSTONE AGRICULTURAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED in February 2018 to be able to focus mainly and strictly on agriculture. Our Directors are Engr Oludayo Oluyemi , a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Mrs Adefunke Omosalewa Oluyemi who possesses a degree in Education & French.

We applied to the Ogun State Government for agricultural farmland and were allocated a 50 acre farm in Okemorisa at Imodi Ijasi in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State in 2018. The land preparation and development commenced in May 2018 after a decision was taken by our management to plant Rice on that farm based on the result of tests carried out at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan. From 2019 till date, we have been planting successfully FARO 42, FARO 44 and GAWAL R1 CHAOTAN varieties of hybrid Rice on this farm. We have sold the Rice we produced from this farm to the market under the name of TOPGOLD Rice.

We also possess a small farm in Igboolomu in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State where we have grown Plantain.

Nigeria has a large population of about 200 million people with an average annual population growth of 2.4%. This provides a huge market for consumer goods such as agricultural products. Given that the food component of agricultural produce is a basic necessity of life, as the population continues to grow, there will be a rising demand for agricultural produce. It is our fervent desire to use our investments in agriculture to assist our nation Nigeria in providing employment for the youths, arresting food scarcity and helping to improve the economic indices like the GDP.

We have identified a major challenge in the post-harvest processing of agricultural produce and its attendant economic losses; hence our desire to go into the establishment of a mini processing mill for Rice at Odosibadewa Quarters in Ilado in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
